Hi there, my name is Elizabeth, and at the age of 31, I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer.
This turned out to be my “gift with a pink ribbon” because it increased my desire to live my life to its fullest by exploring the world around me without limiting my dreams and desires. After undergoing a lumpectomy, radiation and beginning hormone treatments, I was on my way to a happy life without cancer.
To my surprise however, I was diagnosed a year later with the same type of cancer and in the same breast, resulting in a bilateral mastectomy. And while it hasn’t been an easy journey, I consider this diagnose another gift, because it has pushed me to completely break out of my comfort zone in an effort to give back on a much greater scale.
It is my life’s mission to help others through their cancer journeys, and empower them by sharing my own. I want to create a space where others can find comfort in knowing that they don’t have to face cancer alone.
In an effort to help on an even greater scale, I have also created Gift With A Pink Ribbon, Inc., a Florida nonprofit 501(c)(3) Organization that donates handmade blankets to cancer patients undergoing chemo therapy, to provide them with warmth and comfort during their treatments.
“As a Survivor, my goal is to build a community full of love, compassion and support for one another…”
Join me on my journey,
Elizabeth ❤️
thank you for sharing!
